where to stay in Alula

Alula without doubt is an amazing historical place with many attractions. Whenever I’m visiting a historical city, finding the right place just near the attraction area or with a fantastic view is sometimes overwhelming. Although there are a variety of places you can book your room from, the quality of the resort or hotel play will make you start eliminating some of them. Here I’m going to list what I know that have a good quality. However, this is not in order, and the post will be updated when I know a new place.

1- Shaden resort:

Shaden resort located near Hail street in Alula, about 28km from Mada’in Saleh. The resort located in the middle of the historical area, and has a beautiful view of the mountain. It has several types of room, room with double bed , separate bed with private external bathroom, royal suite deluxe that contains six rooms in addition to living room, and royal duplex suite that contains only two room with double bed in addition to a living room. The prices start at 256 pounds/ 1191 riyal per night. There is a spa, gym and indoor dining places. You can rent bicycles, cars, and it provides transportation service to and from the airport with additional fee.

2- Sahary Alula resort:

It is located near to elephant mountain and 23 km away from Mada’in Saleh. It has a room with double bed and suites. The resort has an outdoor fireplace, barbecue, and theme dinner (additional fee). Similar to Shaden resort, this resort has available horses for riding, and it organizes hiking available.

3- Ashar Resort:

This resort classified as five-star resort. It has a room with double-bed, suite and villa in desert camp. There is a variety of food available, and you can enjoy eating outdoors. However, the price of this resort is high compared to all other resorts listed here.

4- Arac Alula resort:

It is more typical resort “aka in normal building”, located near to the Heritage village of Alula. Many tourist attractions are few mins away. The resort has different types of room. It also has a gym and inside and outside pool.

5- Al- Madakhil camp:

It is located between mountains in Alula, and it designs to mimic Arabian tents, each tent has its own bathroom. The Camp has a barbecue facilities, however, you can use it with an additional fee. You can request to arrange a hiking for you with or without a local guide.
