Al-Klija is one of the popular traditional dishes in Al-Qassim, it’s made with spices, flours and other dough ingredients. It’s stuffed with molasses and often eaten with Arabic coffee. Since Al-Qassim is known for agricultural land, most of its products are made from local ingredients.
This festival started in 2009, and this one will be the 12 season. Al-Qassim governorate and the chamber of commerce are the organizer of this festival, it held in Al-Qassim international convention and exhibition center in Buraidah. The festival provides an opportunity for visitors to get acquainted with this popular Qassimi heritage, where many klija maker will gather in one place. The festival includes a number of governmental and private agencies in addition to Alousar Almontijah “the productive families”. Modern cuisines are also provided in the food carts section.
Since the festival focus on a traditional food, it will definitely have a booth dedicated to the manufacture of klija. Here, the visitors who are interested in knowing how to make klija can have a glance at the baking process. You will be able to see the steps of the backing and make one yourself. There is a special section for children called a youngest cook.



In addition to klija making section, the festival has many other sections, including:
Klija studio: it is a photo booth where you can take pictures as memorial from the festival by professional photographers.
Klija Café: It is not usually common to eat klija without drinking Arabian coffee, however, there are some people prefer to eat it with other type of coffee or without drinking any. Here at klija café you can have some coffee and other beverages and some other goods.
Productive families: the term productive families “ Alousar almontijah” is a common term in the kingdom. It means families who have the skill to make a specific thing that they can offer it for sale. In this section, all productive families offer their goods for sale in addition to some of them making these products in front of you.
Companies: here all the private and government companies participating in the festival to show what they have to offer.
Heritage Crafts: the Arabian Peninsula is famous for the handicrafts performed by its indigenous. Some crafts are still in existence to this day, and their products are still in use. This section displays the traditional crafts of Al-Qassim that are for sale.
Children play area: contains more than six games equipped for children.
